Terms of Service

The terms governing use of the Guild.

Effective May 18, 2026

These terms govern your use of theplantersguild.com (the "Guild" or "site") and any associated services run by The Planters' Guild LLC (the "Publisher"). By visiting the site or becoming a member, you agree to these terms.

Membership

The Planters' Guild offers three paid membership options:

All membership purchases are processed by Stripe. We never see your payment card details. You can manage your subscription (update payment method, change tier, or cancel) through the Stripe Customer Portal, accessible from any Guild billing email.

Refunds and cancellations

Founding Member: full refund within 14 days of purchase, no questions asked. Email [email protected] with the email address used at checkout and we'll refund the original payment method within five business days. After 14 days, the Founding Member purchase is non-refundable, consistent with the lifetime-access value provided.

Monthly and Annual Members: cancel anytime through the Stripe Customer Portal. Cancellation stops future renewals; you retain access through the end of your paid period. We do not provide partial-period refunds.

The Guild publishes editorial content about plants, gardening, substrate science, weather, and related topics. This content is for general educational and personal use. You're welcome to:

Not professional advice

Guild content is general information, not professional advice. Plants, soil, weather, and growing conditions vary widely. We make our best effort to be accurate, but we can't guarantee that what works in our garden will work in yours, or that our recommendations are right for your specific situation. For decisions with safety or financial consequences (toxicity, allergic reactions, large investments in soil or equipment), consult a qualified professional.

Intellectual property

All content on the Guild (articles, photography, illustrations, brand identity, and the editorial framework itself) is owned by The Planters' Guild LLC unless explicitly marked otherwise. Reuse beyond the personal and quotation rights described above requires written permission.

Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, The Planters' Guild LLC is not liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the Guild or reliance on its content. We're a small publisher doing our best work; you're an adult making your own decisions.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, USA. Any dispute will be resolved in Santa Clara County courts.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms occasionally. The effective date at the top of this page will reflect the latest version. Material changes will be communicated to subscribers by email.
